Hey J, I got this email from iiNet the other day:
iiNet is contacting you in regards to your bliink Broadband application
that was recently rejected due to incompatible infrastructure (PGS or
RIM).
A new qualification process may now mean you can have highspeed ADSL!
If you resubmit your application, our upstream supplier will check for an
alternate path with full copper thus enabling you to have ADSL on your line.
If an alternative path is available, a transposition of your line will be
done (this may cause a short outage on your line).
This might look promising. Are you with iiNet? Which plan? How do you find it, any probs? Should I go for it?
I hear Netspace have a good ADLS plan. Anyone have any recommendations?

Posted by: J at July 3, 2003 11:12 AMI heard you can get the internet on a CD these days :)
Posted by: [jc] at July 3, 2003 12:02 AMJust the other day my mate said that for a very small sum of money that had managed to "GET THE INTERNET AT THEIR HOUSE" .. he lives pretty close to you - and considering he has the WHOLE fuckin internet at his little residence - I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you ran a cable to your house from it.. only thing is I don't know how he took the INTERNET home .. maybe they loaded it onto a truck .. not sure - so running a cable to it - maybe more difficult than I'm thinking right now. But I'll get in contact with him and check - I now know quite a few families that have managed to get the INTERNET at home.. maybe it was there when they moved in .. or maybe they also transported it somehow .. I'll let u know - I don't know as much as you about computers.. but I think I can help out with this particluar request.
Posted by: Cheech at July 2, 2003 05:45 PMYes I am with iinet - $79 a month for 12 Gig (6 peak / 6 off peak), its great. My only complaint is the routing is stuffed so playing games is pretty poor, but if you arent a gamer then it is genuinely good value for money.
I say go for it - pop over and check it out first if you prefer..
I read that they had improved the thingy majig's and now lots more people can have ADSL - totally sad ti the boss "Hey I need to tell John this" then promptly forgot :(
Oh Well...
Cheers.
