Big Decisions

The AFL finals are here. My team will not be participating. There are only two Victorian teams. Who do I go for? Reasons?

i've had a long, hard think about this (yes, it hurt). but in my own humble opinion i don't think collingwood is any better form, than let's say sydney. so collingwood bet brisbane - big deal. so has a lot of clubs this year. sydney bet them up at the gabba just a few weeks ago. i know one player doesn't make a team, but i think one M Voss can have a huge impact on his team. without Voss, brisbane went down by just 2 straight kicks. a week before, in conditions unfamiliar to essendon, collingwood again won by just 2 straight kicks. i don't think this is the kind of form that wins grand finals. if sydney can beat the top side by about 2 goals, in adelaide, than they should be rated as favourites for the premiership as much as collingwood has been..

there's still a long way to go in this year's finals series and i'm sure the game we watch and love so much will still bring us some surprises..

DOH ! err I meant Pies v Interstate is inevitable because Essendon cannot meat Pies in the GF (bummer how good would that have been!). So lets presume Pies make it then I will go for them although I do respect Brisbane a fair bit, cant stand Port or Sydney...

Footy is weird sometimes... nuff said..

Hmmn.. its hard to decide, Essendon get my support cause I genuniely respect them. Collingwood are too UP themselves and too smug, yes they have worked hard and earned their current success but they still bug me (always will - die hard tigers fan etc).

However if the GF is Pies V then go PIES cause in my heart I am VIC through and through...

Complex (and contradictory) huh.. :)

Personally if Collingwood then Richmond isn't in the finals I actively support any interstate teams. Why? Because if Brisbane or Adelaide, etc. win it's like it never happened - being that we live in Victoria an' all. Let's face it, if Essendon or Carlton win you get your nose rubbed in it - Weg Posters and Carlton posers everywhere. As a Carringbush supporter why would I want Essendon to win the flag just so it stays in Victoria? Not as though i'm going to Windy Hill in a hurry to admire it. But I just may be popping in to Jock McHale Stadium at Victoria Park to admire it in a month... TDL i'll pick u up afterwards and we'll have those 2003 Weg posters framed... I think the winner out of Collingwood v Brisbane will play Port Adelaide in the Granny - but from there i'm not sure...

Whichever victorian team you support really is a moot point.

What is important is the very difficult and unlikely road that the Bombers face....(ie)several interstate games...

Should the bombers MANAGE to overcome that hurdle, they will surely deserve their place in the latter weeks of September.

Irrespective, for the Bombers to succeed in my humble opinion, the "stars" such as James Hird will be forced for the first time to do more than just a mere cameo role.

i can't believe you have to actually ask that question?? come on, you wouldn't seriously consider supporting collingwood? sheedy being an ex richmond player should be enough reason to follow the dons..

and who would want to see eddie celebrate a collingwood premiership win, not i..
