Last night I was invited to a wonderful dinner at my sister in-laws place. The food was delicious. What was even better and more special about last night, was that my niece 'Laura' asked me to be her sponsor. It came as a surprise. I feel so honored to be considered worthy enough to play such an important part in my niece's life. She picked me. Woohoo!
Not being Catholic, this is all new to me so I need to brush up on what I need to do. I must say, I'm looking forward to it. Thankyou Laura :)
Fifi Whatshername of 'The Block' is in this months issue of 'Ralph'. The debate here is are they real? The girls think the're not. The boys think they are, how about you?
Look what was waiting for me today.
All I need now is some time to put a new network card in my PC and to set the little bugger up.
Can't wait.
A nice email just arrived from iiNet:
Good news - Your high speed, permanent Internet access is now active on
your line, and your Bliink account is ready for you to set-up.
Just have to wait for the hardware to arrive and we are in business. It's only taken 6 months to get broadband but I'm finaly there.
So what is everyone running at home? Zone Alarm, McAfee Firewall? What do you recommend I use to protect my PC and all my PC's that are networked together.
Well it's that time of the week when I weigh myself and post the update. This week's news is not so good. From 84.5kg I weighed in at 84.0kg. Pre weekend I did weigh in at 83.5kg. It was a big weekend that did me no favours. A Cray fish in Thermidor, garlic prawns and garlic bread on Friday. Fish & Chips on Saturday + 3 donuts and 1 chocolate bar and on Sunday, Lasagne, potatoes and caramel cheese cake. Lets hope I eat well this week.
I still managed to run four time last week and go for a swim Saturday and Sunday. I can see shedding some of this fat is going to be harder than I expected.
Well, a friend popped in the other day with his almost two year old daughter. The lessons I learned were that when I decide to have kids I MUST:
- Superglue every door/cupboard shut
- Place all remote controls in a non reachable place
- Buy plastic and get rid of any glass bowls and vases
- Check volume levels before I switch any stereos on
- Be prepared for ANYTHING
Went swimming both Saturday and Sunday. Lovin it. Oh yeah, the Tigers finaly won after an eight game losing streak. A 10 goal win to be precise. The funny thing is I wasn't even that excited. I didn't even bother going to the game. What I did like was seeing the coaching staff try something they should have done weeks ago. Have the balls to move Richo down the ground, bring Holland up the ground and give some new young blood a try. Holland 6 goals, First gamer Marty McGrath 5 goals, Krakouer 3, Rodan 2, Schulz 1 the list goes on. That to me was more entertaining than the win.
Went and watched T3 on Friday night. Fantastic movie. It could of done without some of the attempted humor but all in all it is worth the watch.
Good to see some rain at last. Stage 2 restrictions are on their way though as of 1st of August. This means a few more filthy cars on the road.
Does this mean what I think it means?
This note is to keep you up to date with the status of your Bliink
application.
We have a tentative date for your ADSL line upgrade of 30/07/2003, however
please note this is an indicative date only, and the actual timing may be
before or after this date.
This was waiting for me in my email box this morning. J, you've done this before. Is this it? What happens next?
GO REGGIE. A well deserved winner of BB last night.
Seven days ago I was 87Kg. This morning i weighed myself in at 84.5kg. This was acheived by eating well, jogging a few nights, tennis and one session of swimming. Yep, J that's swimming. You were absolutely right when you said I would luv.
87 to 84.5 is pretty good concidering the weekend involved the over consumption of alcohol at Lotus Bar (had to pick up the car the next day), a hotdog, two pasta dishes and a souvlaki sub from Red Rooster. The key is EXERCISE.
Oh yeh, Richmond lost again. But why doesn't that surprise us?
There is no update. I guess they're still trying to work out an excuse as to why they can't (aka: WON'T) re-route me to an ADSL enabled exchange.
In case you were asking, yes i am going to tonight's game. Yep, going to see us loose 8 straight. Might be the last game i go to for a while. The gang i go with is that pissed off with the pathetic effort the tigers have put up in the last two months, that they don't believe they should put anymore effort into it either. I tend to agree. Oh well, don't be expecting any scores up as you are all aware they never go up when we lose.
Have a nice weekend.
Have you ever wondered what the inside of an Antec - Lanboy looks like. Here are a few pix of my PC, neon fan and all. All I need now is a spoiler and some low profiles and off we go.
I've also had an update on my ADSL application:
A full Service Qualification has now been conducted on your nominated phone line. Your phone line is currently on a PGS or RIM.
PGS (Pair Gain Systems) and RIM (Remote Integrated Multiplexer) means that there are multiple lines on the same single copper wire, which makes your line incompatible for ADSL.
Telstr@ are in the process of testing your line for an alternative path. If one is found, your line will be upgraded to full copper with ADSL.
Lets see what excuse they find this time to not go ahead with the copper upgrade.
Wouldn't we all love this setup. Now I know what to do when I get a few extra monitors.
Well we only have one more team on the bottom of the AFL ladder to beat us to confirm our PATHETIC status. And if that's not bad enough, Campbell out for the season and KJohnno out with a hammy.
Weighing myself this morning provided me with another shock. I thought i was doing fine but I've clicked the 87kg mark. I have put on more than 12kg since i got married. I think there is a clause on some part of the marriage certificate that makes weight gain part of the contract. This time it's for real. The exercising and looking at what I eat is a must.
I have been motivated by J. He is a quiet achiever. He started swimming a few weeks ago, has stopped eating crap and has lost 7-9kg. Good on you buddy, very proud of you. You da man. You need to let us know what your weekly menu consists of cause that's the killer. What do you have for lunch? What do you have for dinner?
Hey Blueyes how are you going with the GYM?
It's been a good weekend. Nice and relaxing. Just finished a bowl of icecream (Cookies & Cream) YUMMY and am currently up watching the POU (scud) whatever you want to call him playing Federer, they're at it game for game so i reckon it might be a late one. The F1 is also on right now on TEN so i can see the batteries on the remote control having a good workout. Hey SEVEN has OFFICE SPACE on. Not a bad movie with Jennifer Aniston, seen it b4 and found the OFFICE POLITICS part of it quite funny and right on the ball.
Talking movies went to see BRUCE ALMIGHTY this weeked. Loved it. Jim Carrey is very funny in this one. GO POU, just watched the best rally (15strokes), 1st set 6 all and they are fighting out a tie breaker.
Before I forget (SHIT Federer just won the tie breaker), anyway b4 i forget TDL, looks like the frame of your new house is up. I'd say roof tiles will be up fairly soon as well. I better organise some squatters to move in. :)
SHIT SHIT SHIT. Federer has just broken POU's first game of the second set. Come on man, the Tigers lost, don't do what they did.
Found some WHITE BOARD shots I've taken and thought they were cool enough to post up here.
Just realised it's the 7th of July. Happy birthday little sis. Hope today is a good one for you and will see you later on tonight. Have that chocolate ready.
SHIT SHIT SHIT. Federer has broken again. 3 to zip in the second.
Just a quick good luck to you and your interview today Mr Beki. I hope it all goes well. Let us know how it went.
Hey J, I got this email from iiNet the other day:
iiNet is contacting you in regards to your bliink Broadband application
that was recently rejected due to incompatible infrastructure (PGS or
RIM).
A new qualification process may now mean you can have highspeed ADSL!
If you resubmit your application, our upstream supplier will check for an
alternate path with full copper thus enabling you to have ADSL on your line.
If an alternative path is available, a transposition of your line will be
done (this may cause a short outage on your line).
This might look promising. Are you with iiNet? Which plan? How do you find it, any probs? Should I go for it?
I hear Netspace have a good ADLS plan. Anyone have any recommendations?
